Two B2MeM 2023 events : drabble duel and Eregion Art-a-thon

DRABBLE DUEL
We need your help!
Glorfindel and the Girabbit have gotten into a fight about the true nature of drabbles, and now they no longer do their duties, because they cannot stop arguing.
Lord Elrond and Mr. Bliss are quite upset.
Luckily, the freckled fox has proposed a solution.
A competition, of sorts; a drabble duel, you could say.
Are you a writer who delights in the shortest of stories, the tiniest of tales?
Then come join us from March 17 to March 25, and help settle the debate!
How to play:
Two collections will be provided. Glorfindel’s Drabble Gallery & the Girabbit’s Drabble Exhibition.
The rules are simple. (and if you prefer bullet points to prose text, look under the read-more)
If you believe that a drabble is exactly 100 words, not a single one more or less, post your drabbles to Glorfindel’s Drabble Gallery.
Should you agree with the Girabbit that 99 words are as true of a drabble as 111 words are, post your drabbles to Girabbit’s Drabble Exhibition.
On March 25, the Mods from Spies in the Shadows will tally all drabbles that were posted in the correct collection, according to the AO3 word count feature, and whoever received more support will win the argument!
Where to play:
The AO3 collections are the most important place of course, but if you would like to join in some live events (including a prompt bingo at Daeron’s casino), you are welcome to temporarily join the Spies in the Shadows discord server! Please dm one of the mods for an invite.
(If you are playing Spies in the Shadows, keep an eye on the informant corner, because there are some further rules at play for you!)

Rules:
1. All written content must be new and previously unposted.
2. Drabbles of exactly 100 words are to be posted in Glorfindel’s Drabble Gallery. Drabbles over or under are to be posted in Girabbit’s Drabbles Exhibition. The number of words will be based on whatever AO3 calculates. If you find that you have posted something in one or the other which calculates to a number different than what is needed, you will either need to adjust the word count and save it, or flip the drabble to the correct collection. Any drabbles in the wrong place when the time is up will not earn points (but many people will still enjoy reading them).
3. Drabbles must fit a prompt from one of the prompt cards. A drabble can cover more than one prompt, however, a single drabble only counts as a single drabble, no matter how many prompts are in it. If you are not signed up to the event, and do not wish to join the discord server, you can request prompt cards by contacting one of the mods or sending an ask on tumblr @spring-into-arda. You can also use the B2MEM 2023 prompt grid.
4. You do not need to be signed up to play Spies in the Shadows to participate in this side event. Anyone is welcome to join, and your drabbles will be counted towards Glorfindel or the Girabbit with all the rest. Those who are not playing Spies in the Shadows but would like to join the Spies in the Shadows server as an Infiltrator may do so. (Please send a pm to zhie#3383) This will allow access to the live drabbling events throughout the week.
5. Any drabbles posted to the collections after the deadline will not be counted for points, but will still be appreciated!
6. Please DO NOT change dates of your postings; doing so runs the risk of having points not counted if they suddenly have dates past the deadline.
Zhie has also written a charming little ficlet of Glorfindel's and Girabbit's argument (though those rules also include the ones for Spies in the Shadows players only) that you can find here.
Eregion Art-a-thon
Strange news have reached us tonight!
A portal has popped up in Edhellond, and it appears to link to the Museum of Eregion! Artists will be able to use this portal to send art to be featured in the museum.
Be quick about it though! It will only be open from March 17 to March 25!
The elderberry cat has suggested that it may be possible to use this opportunity to avert the fate of one of the greatest artisans of the second age, the Lord Celebrimbor himself.
We are calling all artists to make use of the portal and submit their art to the Museum of Eregion, and if perhaps… there are some subtle hints hidden in those arts that could alert Celebrimbor to his future fate, then who could possibly object? (Do make sure they are subtle, though. We would not wish Annatar to catch on!)
How to play:
This event will primarily happen on Discord, though there might be a tumblr museum as well once the portal has closed again.
If you are not playing Spies in the Shadows, but want to join the server for the week, dm one of the mods for an invite or hit us up on tumblr @spring-into-arda.
You will be given access to bingo prompt cards that you can use to create for the event.
Spies, new channels for this event will soon be revealed, so keep an eye out!
We will have some live creating events throughout the week, and a bingo night!
Rules:
1. Art pieces must be previously unpublished.
2. What counts as art? Sketches, paintings, needlework, statues, moodboards. If you think it’s art, it’s art. Please submit only your own work and use public domain images or your own photos if you need them for a moodboard, for example.
3. You can post your art on your preferred posting platform! Drop a link into the Museum of Eregion channel to have it displayed in the Museum, and let us know whether you would like for it to be included in the tumblr museum.
4. If you’re playing Spies in the Shadows, you will receive 50 points per artpiece displayed in the museum. An additional +50 bonus points will be awarded if your art includes hints that may save Celebrimbor. Double agents (so those playing both the team and the solo event) will need to declare in advance of the game whether they are collecting their points to apply to their team or if they are going to keep their points for their solo total.
