B2MeM, past and future

It has been announced that the b2mem community on Dreamwidth is in its final year (the ninth for the community on LJ/DW), but it is already clear that the annual B2MeM event itself, which began in March 2006, will continue in March 2021, although the details are less certain.
Some preliminary discussions about this have been had on the SWG Discord.
This is a post for any comments on this subject. 
(But please remember I'm not a mod of B2MeM, just a participant, so cannot offer any official information on any of this.)
