Can you just clarify a little, is this game meant to be played in the b2mem comm, here in b2memsupport, or other?

If this applies to the b2mem comm, I would just like to understand how it works a little better, specifically the tagging aspect. I strongly request that no one tag anything in a way not already covered by the existing tagging rules until we are done discussing this.

Because it's not official, anything tagging-wise would use the tag listed on slide #3:

any fanworks created with the unofficial numbers should be tagged with number:unofficial


That wording actually came from the officials when I started talking in discord about Bingo After Dark, and this way if anyone wants to keep going, any of the non-2019 numbers should use that tag so as not to get confusing with things written for the official event:

So I realized that for tagging purposes, we really will need to distinguish between the official numbers and the unofficial numbers. Would it be possible for you to put in your first post that any fanworks written with the unofficial numbers should be tagged with number:unofficial?

all I did was change 'written' to 'created' to cover non-fanfic things

I plan to only post the numbers on discord and on that powerpoint; I'll note that in the powerpoint. I've just been posting the link to the powerpoint in places the bingoers have been hanging out. Didn't mean to be confusing. :)

By unofficial numbers, do you mean simply any numbers that weren't called this year? Or the new numbers you mentioned that don't fit into the existing system, like 4U?

I meant rather, where will the fanworks be posted for this new game? If it's to the b2mem comm, then that's something taggers need to know about and think about. :) I believe that Indy told you that, but it's the first time I'm getting this information, and the mods need to discuss this a little more behind the scenes. You haven't done anything wrong, but I can only ask you to have a little patience while we work this out.

If the b2mem comm isn't involved (including the posting of fanworks), then forget what I said -- I'm happy for it to remain completely unofficial and for mods to be completely uninvolved in it. :)

I was just going to do this as a side thing for funsies. It was then kind of just brought up that people could post things in some of the same places they had been, but that they should use that unofficial tag - which, I'd assume is so that it's just a universal unofficial tag instead of worrying about people making up other tags suddenly.

Okay, thanks for sharing that. Just to be clear, I'm not saying that you can't or shouldn't do it! All I'm saying is, please just hang on a sec until I've had a chance to talk about this with Indy and make sure everyone is on the same page.

There are usually scattered posts to the b2mem comm going into April and even later, as people continue finishing up their stuff, and that's totally fine! Expected and encouraged, even. Calling a new set of bingo numbers seems like it might be a little more than that, and I just want to make sure we're . . . prepared, I guess? And that anyone tagging has a clear idea of what should be done.

This was not meant to be some big complicated thing that caused all of y'all more things to do or discuss, it was just supposed to keep the camaraderie going and people making things.

I'll be surprised if it goes beyond me, a half dozen people, and a literate squirrel with a desire to write more ent stories for the world, which they hide in little holes in the ground like forgotten acorns. (The squirrel is questionable - he still needs to do his taxes, so he might not take part.)

Zhie, I'm not trying to stop fun or camaraderie. Running (and tagging) the b2mem comm involves a lot more work behind the scenes than most participants are aware of. That work is largely invisible, and it's meant to be, so that participants can have fun without worrying about any of that. By running this on the b2mem comm, whether you realize it or not, your project is asking for what could potentially be a large commitment of time from other people, and without giving us the usual planning lead time to work out scheduling. Especially when participants, say, make posts that need 28 separate tags. ;)

I am simply trying to make sure those resources are available before anyone jumps in. It's not because I hate fun, it's because tagging is done by real live human beings who need a break sometimes. :)

To reiterate, I am not asking for anything. It was suggested to me by one of the mods that the comm could be used for posting. I am well aware of how much work goes into things like this, and while I really do appreciate what you and the rest of the mods do, I do not appreciate comments that make it seem like I am requesting a commitment when the idea was brought to me, not the other way around. I will address the rest in private to you. Rest assured - I will not be encouraging anyone who does after dark, if it even happens now, to go anywhere near the official comm with their works.

Zhie, if it turns out that posting Bingo after Dark numbers and entries to the official community causes complications, you are very welcome to post them to this community.
I don't think it's likely to cause confusion here, after March.
I haven't looked at your Powerpoint yet, so this may be unnecessary to mention, but I'd ask people to use the same ratings and warnings as for the official game.

I also want to apologize that this thread ended up here on your group and that it has gone on for so long after I keep thinking it has been resolved. All I wanted to do was let people know about the little after party; I did not expect this to get to this place.
