Hindsight is 20/20.  There are times when we can be made aware of circumstances which might be the cause of other events, but oftentimes, this foreshadowing is not available to us.  Think about a situation where the audience or one character is aware of the foreshadowing, but the main complement of characters do not have this information and use this as inspiration for your creation.
