March 31st, 2021: Index of Names
Because this section is a dictionary-style list of entries, the prompts are instead based on the words themselves. If you have access to a copy of The Silmarillion, you can choose your own prompts from the index. If you do not have access, some options are listed.
Come up for a reason why a particular item or person had a particular name. For example, Aeglos, the spear of Gil-galad: The name translates to “Snow-point”.
Many characters have titles which might not be entirely explained, such as Fingon being referred to as ‘Valiant’ prior to his deeds in Middle-earth. Explain the origin of the title in your work.
Some characters have multiple names, like Finrod Felagund, and use different names for different reasons. Either use an alternate name for a character as your prompt, or make up a new moniker for that character and utilize that as your prompt.
The list of daily prompt sets is now complete. You can see the whole set by clicking on the b2mem2021 tag.
The AO3 collection remains open.
